Kenneth Powell III is a passionate photographer and cinematographer based in Homewood, Illinois. He began his professional journey in 2019 as a real estate and wedding videographer, and his love for the camera and its capability to create enduring visuals quickly blossomed into something much more. He started seeking new, more personally intriguing subject matter, turning to the vibrant streets and urban landscapes of Chicago, along with his neighborhood and friends, for daily inspiration. Creating images that feel true to his view of life and the ever-changing world around him.
As he delved deeper into the medium, Kenneth discovered a love for film photography. The required deliberateness, tangibility, and unique photochemical processes captivated him, especially after realizing that many of his favorite movies and photographs were shot on film. Now, Kenneth operates his personal darkroom, Cellar Door, where he develops, prints, and scans his images. He aims to capture the energy and emotion of everything that comes before his lens, creating footprints of moments in time.
